A New Angel in Heaven's Choir
~AIDA MAY JACINTO (rest in peace)~
the very first time i layed eyes on you, i knew in an instant that you would bring such joy & love into this world. tinuring kita na parang kapatid ko. ang kyoote kyoote mo at lagi kang masigla at naka ngiti. i'm missing you already.
i remember the times when i'd go to your bahay to play with you and your ate kristine. you always noticed how i never, if not hardly, comb my hair, so you would point and ask me to come to you. you'd softly put your fingers through my long strands and
try to untangle them, but within seconds, you would give up and giggle. hehe. i, in turn, attempted to touch yours but you would give me that super model look (in your mind, you were probably thinkin
"don't hate me cuz i'm beautiful."). and you're right... you ARE beautiful. that's when i began calling you "pretty girl" - a name that stuck with you till this very day, a name that distinguished you from all the other cute babies. despite the distance we now have, you are and will forever be my pretty girl.
i thorougly enjoyed when you showed me what you learned after your lessons. so vividly, i can recapture your first few days of walking. tita glo would hold you up and tell you to "walk to ate michelle." you were great. you walked like a pro. everytime i would eat at your place, you showed the utmost care and hospitality. for some funny reason, you always wanted to sit right next to me. i loved it when you were by my side cuz the laughs were endless. you knew when i was thirsty, even tho your mom and sis insisted i'd get something to drink and i would turn down the offer. you would take the water next to you and slide it over. hehe =). thanks for making me realize that it's the simple acts of kindness that matter most.
you've taught everyone a lesson or two along the way. for as far as i remembered, you have been battling with all these bodily infirmities; and yet, you were strong and held a smile on your face. you're truly a blessing to all those who have encountered you, most especially your family. God Almighty placed you in this earth for a reason, a special mission. you have taught your family patience through your illness, you have taught others and myself to appreciate simple gifts that God has given us that we often take for granted, you have taught me the beauty of simplicity and light-heartedness.
at ngayon, nasa bahay ka ng ating Panginoon. hinidi ba sinabi ni Jesus, siya ang pagkabuhay na maguli, at ang kabuhayan: ang sumasampalataya sa kanya, bagama't siya'y mamatay, gayon ma'y mabubuhay siya; at ang sinomang nabubuhay at sumasampalataya sa kanya ay hindi mamamatay magpakailan man. in john's gospel, Jesus states that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life.
aida may, although you are not physically with us, we know that your presence will continue to pervade our lives. thank you again for being such a beautiful daughter of God. i miss you immensely. please pray for us, our lil angel. be happy, for you are in the presence of our Father and behold His face - a privilege that we all long for in the afterlife. your mission here on earth has not reached its culmination; but your life in heaven has just begun. =)
i love you, PRETTY GIRL!!!
